Manual Booking Flow: Always Capture Email
Problem
When a sales rep books appointments manually in GHL (not through the embedded booking form), the form doesn't require email or first name. This means:
- Email reminders get skipped (no email on file)
- Calendar invites can't be sent
- Desktop join links don't work
- The booking confirmation workflow skips email steps
SOP for Sales Reps
- Before booking, navigate to the contact's detail page
- Fill in:
- Email address (ask on the call: "What's a good email for the calendar invite?")
- First name (if not already captured)
- Save the contact
- Go to Appointments tab on the contact
- Click Add to create the appointment
- Book as normal
Why This Matters
- Booking confirmation SMS references checking email: "You'll get a calendar invite at your email"
- No-show follow-up emails won't fire without email
- Show rate drops significantly without email reminders
- Desktop join links (for screen share demos) require email delivery
Script Addition
After confirming the time:
"Perfect, locking that in. What's the best email to send the calendar invite to?" "And sorry, I didn't catch your name — what was it?"
This naturally captures both data points before the booking is created.
