GBP Verification Workaround for Service Area Businesses
Problem
Service area businesses (like lawn care, plumbers) that travel to customers often get denied video verification because they don't have physical signage at a storefront.
Prerequisites
- Must have failed video verification multiple times (3+ attempts)
- This unlocks the "Contact Support" option
Step-by-Step Process
1. Access Support Form
- Go to Google Business Profile support
- Select your account
- Type "verification" in search
- Choose any verification option
- Click "Get help with verification"
- Look for "Contact us" option (only appears after multiple failures)
2. Fill Out Support Request
Select: "My business profile is not verified"
Business Type: "My business travels to meet customers where they are"
Required Information:
- Full name (must match GBP listing)
- Phone number
- Email (same as GBP account email)
- Google Business Profile ID (found in Business Profile Settings → Advanced Settings)
Message Template:
"I have tried verifying my business multiple times via the video, but the option for verifying with signage is not applicable to me. I've tried it multiple times. It's not working. I don't have signage. I go to clients."
3. Upload Supporting Documents
Required uploads (use ZIP file for multiple):
- Pictures of tools/equipment used for work
- Pictures of vehicle with any branding
- Utility bill (within past 3 months, name must match GBP)
- Any other proof business exists (same content from failed video attempts)

Select: "I want to change the verification methods available to me"
Also select: "Participate in a video call" - Yes
Outcome
Google should schedule a live video call with an agent who can manually verify your business through alternative means.
