GoHighLevel SMS Limit Configuration for New Sub-Accounts

Problem

New GHL sub-accounts are restricted to segment-based messaging limits that progress through 8 stages, severely limiting outbound SMS volume.

Solution

Configure new sub-accounts to use daily message limits instead.

Steps

  1. Go to Agency Settings
  2. Navigate to Sub Account Settings
  3. Click Phone Integration
  4. Find Account Creation section
  5. Locate Messaging Limit at the bottom
  6. Click Update Limit
  7. Change from segments to Messages per day/month
  8. Set to maximum: 1,500 messages per day

Important Notes

  • This setting only applies to new sub-accounts created after the change
  • Does not retroactively fix existing sub-accounts at max limit
  • Existing accounts at limit require support ticket
  • May need to delete old sub-account and create new one (takes ~24 hours to process deletion)
